Job Summary:
The Carrier Sales Representative will be a trusted logistics advisor, providing transportation solutions to support our clients’ supply chain needs. They will proactively reach out to key stakeholders within customer organizations to drive continuous improvement, as well as solve challenging customer issues while providing an exceptional customer experience.


Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manages and develops a carrier portfolio establishing long lasting carrier relationships
  • Sells and negotiates with carriers
  • Continuously prospects new carriers through high-volume outbound calls and occasional onsite visits
  • Provides continuous coverage support for all open brokerage loads
  • Continuously achieves and exceeds all Carrier Sales Rep metrics and KPIs
  • Grows personal carrier base and stablishes residual “core” carriers
  • Adopts industry technologies and implements them into daily operations
  • Performs thorough carrier campaigns to establish a solid carrier base for awarded business
  • Performs daily carrier profiles to ensure internal carrier database is up to date
  • Proactively communicates, providing excellent customer service internally and to our carriers
  • Identifies and uncovers organic capacity/availability opportunities withing your carrier portfolio

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or another related field preferred
  • Demonstrated success in a proactive sales environment
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets, and other items stored at various levels including overhead
  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (four or more hours)
  • Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgements and decisions, etc.
